Any effort to communicate with a large number of people is expensive and this campaign is no exception. I have tried to run an effective campaign without draining too much of your money and time from the other good candidates in other races in the state and nation.
I now want to urge you to consider a last minute donation to some of the more tightly contested campaigns that are being waged for other offices in other districts. These other campaigns can put your money and time to better use than I can - the voters in the Sixth Congressional District are either ready for a change or they are not - and whatever I could do this last week of the campaign will have no material effect on the outcome of my race. However, Mike Feeley, Tom Strickland, Stan Matsunaka, or Rollie Heath, could plug your donation or volunteer time right into their ongoing efforts to persuade that last undecided voter to vote for them!
I want to thank you for all the support you gave me in this campaign. I believe that it enabled us to show the people of the Sixth District that I can be a good Representative for the next two years - if they are tired of Mr. Tancredo and are ready for a change. If you have not already visited the part of this web site that is titled "Financial Security", I hope that you will (after the election!) take the time to do so, because it presents an alternative perspective on life's priorities that may make be useful to you. This difference in perspective may save you thousands of dollars over the rest of your life! Check it out and then consider how we can continue the work of bringing this message about old-fashioned American Values to as many people as possible. If you want to contact me by mail you can write to me
Please note that I support reducing the influence of special interests on campaigns and that I "put my money where my mouth is" by restricting contributions to my campaign to no more than $250 per person or group.
